Week 8 On Friday our buddy reading class, 6d invited us to watch the dissection on a deer's eye. Thank you to Mrs Connolly and 6d for sharing this with us. We then shared this with the other year two classes.
On Thursday and Friday we planted peas, beans, rosemary and sweet basil. We want to see what happens to seeds when they are planted and how long does it take to grow. We put some seeds in a plastic bag with wet paper towels.
On Wednesday we watched the Auckland Libraries Roadshow in our hall.
Week 5 Our buddy readers shared a science experiment with us on Friday. We are learning a minibeast song and dance.

The Trip to Botanic Gardens
Yesterday me and my class went to the Botanic Gardens. We went by bus. When we got the the Botanic Gardens we had a little chat with Meredith. Then it was morning tea time. A little bit later we got into our groups. Then we went to our parent helpers. My group went all around the Botanic Gardens. It was fun when I got to see the minibeasts!

Botanic Gardens Trip
Yay! Yesterday I went to the Botanic Gardens with my class. We had to get into groups. I was in group 6. Our parent helper was Deborah, who is James's mum. The bus left at 9am. Our job was to find minibeasts. I found a spider sitting on a flower. I got a little bit scared. When I saw it I screamed out "Spider!" because I am scared of spiders. The trip was fun because minibeasts are helpful.

Trip to Botanic Gardens
Yesterday we went to Botanic Gardens and we were in groups. In the gardens we had to go in a quiet courtyard where we had to eat but we had to go minibeast-hunting later. There were teachers that taught us insects are invertebrates but we knew that already. Out teacher, Meredith went with us to the forest. She told us about pollinators and recyclers. I think going to Botanic Gardens was great!

We also got to talk to a police officer. We asked him lots of questions. He allowed some of us to wear his special vest and hat. Look at who is in the local newspaper.

Celebrating Book Week!
Madison took part in the Music and Poetry Evening on Thursday night. She recited a poem called "Creepy". "I was nervous" said Madison.
On Tuesday we watched and listened to Stu Duval tell us a story. We did this as part of our book week celebrations.
